The need for FastTrends.com became apparent to Tom Andrews and Eric Henry as they grew their licensed t-shirt company, Logotel, from startup to trend-setting industry leader.

Tom and Eric saw that every link in the licensing chain, from licensor to retailer, was missing out on potentially valuable opportunities because each step of the licensing process was so time consuming and inefficient. They realized that today's technologies could be used to reduce lag times, identify and contact potential strategic partners, build lasting and profitable relationships, provide promotional opportunities, deliver important industry news, and track all of the licensing processes on a product by product basis.

But they also knew that this $140+ billion a year industry was built on personal relationships and that it would not, could not, and should not be turned into an impersonal "technology business" with the click of a mouse. That's why they envisioned a company where personally delivered member services would form the backbone for an industry leading array of easy-to-use, customizable, online tools developed to help each individual member expand their own segment of the licensing industry.
