On January 7th, HashKey Group announced that it has received approval for VASP registration from the Central Bank of Ireland, expanding its market to Ireland. According to the EU's Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD5), all crypto service providers in Ireland must register with the central bank for anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) measures.
The VASP license approval allows HashKey to offer a variety of crypto services, including fiat-crypto exchange, crypto-crypto exchange, custodial wallet services, and transferring virtual assets on behalf of others. The Central Bank of Ireland also requires entities that assist issuers in providing or selling virtual assets in any capacity to obtain VASP approval.
