NextGen Capital puts the know-how and capital of 125+ successful technology and financial executives together with promising early stage companies. Our active investors are a "veritable Who’s Who of technology in Washington" according to Washington Technology. The fund leverages its investors as advisors to the portfolio companies. Investor/advisors lend their collective acumen in technology, finance, and management to ferret out promising early stage companies, assist with due diligence, and mentor portfolio companies.

Founded in 1997, NextGen Capital works with the next generation of communications, information technology and Internet technology firms in the mid-Atlantic area. These firms, like those in Silicon Valley and Boston’s 128 corridor, are often founded by scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs attracted to the region by the strong economy, educated work force, and technology culture. The fund invests primarily in early-stage companies, enterprises that produce revenues from products and services whose success will be enhanced by additional capital.
