Alain Brenzikofer graduated from his studies in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at ETH Zurich in 2005. After one year with a startup in Active Noise Canceling he worked at CSEM for five years as an R&D engineer in optoelectronic systems and characterization of image sensors. Since 2012 he’s been with Supercomputing Systems AG where he lead the smart grid pilot project "GridBox", which demonstrated monitoring and distributed control of the electrical distribution grid and its prosumers. As an expert for blockchain technology for industrial applications he today leads the department for decentralized systems focusing on blockchain, IoT, and privacy. For the swiss project «Quartierstrom» his team develops a dynamic grid tariff and privacy-enhancing technologies for the decentralized p2p energy market.
