Babak Fouladi joined MTN Group in May 2016 in the capacity of Group Executive: Chief Technology and Information Officer. In addition to the MTN Group Executive role, Mr Fouladi fulfils the position of MTN South Africa’s Chief Technology Officer. Mr Fouladi is a Senior Executive, with global experience in the Telecommunications, Media and ICT sectors. Before joining MTN Group, Mr Fouladi served as Chief Technology Officer of Vodafone Spain, a position he held since May 2012. Prior to that, he was appointed as Director for IT Development, Vice President for Multimedia and System Integration in the United Kingdom and later as Vice President, Systems Integration in Moscow. Mr Fouladi has held key executive positions at various telecommunications companies globally, and has served tenures in Spain, Romania, Russia and the United Kingdom. Mr Fouladi attended The George Washington University in Washington DC, USA and completed his Bachelor of Science (Electrical Engineering) Cum Laude in 1991 and his Master of Science (Information Management) Magna Cum Laude in 1993.He currently holds memberships to the Institute of Information Technology Professionals SA as well as the Institute of Directors SA.
