William (Bill) Nuti is the President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors at NCR Corporation since 2005. NCR is the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, enabling more than 550 million transactions daily across retail, financial, travel, hospitality, telecom and technology and small business. William is highly respected for his leadership skills and acclaimed for his vision and expertise in transforming and reinventing companies for sustainable and profitable growth. Since joining NCR in 2005, William has orchestrated one of the most successful business reinventions in recent history, while transforming the way consumers connect, interact and transact with business. With over a century of legacy and culture at its back, William made critical decisions to reinvent NCR over the long term, including shifting the core business model of NCR from hardware to more software and SaaS, spinning-off Teradata, moving the company’s headquarters to Georgia, building a global manufacturing network in five countries, acquiring several high-growth companies in the software and SaaS space and expanding into new markets, adjacencies and underpenetrated emerging markets. William’s vision to build a best-in-class global organization has not gone unnoticed. William has been heralded by government officials and news organizations for creating advanced manufacturing jobs in the United States. Under Bill’s leadership, NCR built America’s first retrofitted manufacturing facility to receive LEED® certification for environmental sustainability, creating hundreds of jobs in the state of Georgia in the process. Throughout his tenure, NCR has been recognized for its humanitarian contributions with the Red Cross Good Neighbor Award and its commitment to employee training and development with the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) BEST Award. Prior to joining NCR as CEO in 2005, Bill served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Symbol Technologies. William led a challenging and highly successful turnaround of Symbol, returning the company to profitability for the first time in five years and increasing revenue growth by 24% from 2002 to 2004. In 2005, William was recognized as the “Best Turnaround Executive” by the American Business Awards. Bill joined Symbol following more than 10 years at Cisco Systems, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, advancing to the dual role of Senior Vice President of the company’s Worldwide Service Provider Operations and senior vice president of U.S. Theater Operations, responsible for more than $15 billion of Cisco’s global revenue stream. Prior to that, William served as Cisco’s president of Europe, Middle East and Africa and before that, Vice President of the Asia / Pacific Region. William is a frequent speaker at high-profile business and technology events. William also is an established enterprise and business policy leader in Washington, D.C., where he founded a CEO policy forum on tax reform and competitiveness. William also spoke at the White House Forum on “Strategy for American Innovation.” William is a Member of the Georgia Institute of Technology Advisory Board, a Long Island University Trustee and serves on the board of directors for United Continental Holdings and Coach, Inc. William holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from Long Island University.
