Eric Broussard has been Vice President, International Marketplaces and Retail, since August 2012. In this role, based in Seattle, WA, he leads Amazon’s International Marketplace businesses in Europe, Japan, China and Australia, as well as Amazon Global Selling initiatives worldwide.Prior to that, Broussard was Vice President, Amazon Services Europe for eight years,where he led development and implementation of Amazon Seller Services strategy in Europe and Japan. Amazon Services Europe offers eCommerce solutions for retailers who want to leverage the technical platform, operational capabilities, professional services and online retailing expertise of Amazon.com. Under Broussard’s leadership, Amazon Services Europe has become a leading Marketplace for hundreds of thousands of Sellers offering millions of products to customers in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Japan.Before moving to Europe, Broussard was Amazon.com’s Vice President of Jewelry and Health & Personal Care based at Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle, Washington. Broussard drove the creation of these two businesses and managed all aspects of their expansion.Prior to this role, Broussard served as Amazon.com’s Vice President of partnerships and was responsible for the company’s alliances with third parties like Toysrus.com, Circuit City, Borders.com and drugstore.com.From 1999 to 2002, Broussard served as Vice President of the Home group at Amazon.com, managing the Kitchen, Tools & Hardware and Outdoor Living businesses. Broussard also managed Amazon.com’s launch into the UK and German markets, drove the integration of Amazon.com’s acquisition of PlanetAll and was instrumental in establishing Amazon.com’s partnership with drugstore.com.Prior to joining Amazon.com in 1998, Broussard was director of international Web business for Netscape Communications. There he developed marketing and sales strategies, negotiated contracts and managed public relations projects for Netscape’s European expansion activities. Prior to that, as a management consultant for Bain & Company, Broussard implemented corporate-wide strategies for Bain’s largest telecommunications client. Broussard’s experience also includes marketing positions and/or supervising projects at Cadence Design Systems and Valid Logic Systems.
