J. Gdanski is among the key leaders in the enterprise blockchain space and the CEO & Founder of Evertas — the first company dedicated to insurance of cryptoassets and blockchain systems; he is one of the few people in the world to focus on those risks full time.As CEO of Evertas he oversaw the world's leading underwriting framework and third party risk assessment tool for holders of cryptoassets (and blockchain systems more broadly), the build out of a complete insurance product in a new risk (including policy forms, claims handling, and ongoing risk monitoring) while successfully shepherding Evertas through multiple successful rounds of funding from some of the top VCs in fintech, insurtech, and blockchain/cryptoassets; securing partnerships with the world's leading insurers, reinsurers, and brokers; and the assembly and curation of a robust dataset of loss events (with root cause analysis). He also serves as CTO and CISO of Evertas where he deployed secure, scalable IT infrastructure for Evertas and oversees compliance with NYS DFS Cybersecurity regulations.Prior to Evertas, J. Gdanski was the first dedicated blockchain hire at two of the largest banks (including the world’s largest custodian bank). He made significant contributions to enterprise blockchain in its seminal stage including with early consortia (R3, Enterprise Ethereum Alliance), Proofs-of-Concepts, on the technical committee for the first enterprise blockchain RFP (DTCC’s TIW Replacement Project, awarded to Axoni); evaluating cryptoasset custody for one of the largest global custodians; founding member of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (the world’s largest blockchain organization), and also worked on blockchain-based resiliency systems, blockchain based syndicated loan systems, tokenization of illiquid assets, Utility Settlement Coin, and projects related to the Delaware Blockchain Initiative. Additionally, he has presented to regulators and legislators around the world (including members of the EU parliament), as well as senior executives and risk committees at Fortune 50 companies. He brings a unique perspective to solving the challenges of safely operating cryptocurrency and blockchain infrastructure.
