Jacob Haap fell in love with technology during High School when he became actively involved in Hack Club, a non-profit network of student coders and makers. He loved thinking about the creative uses of technology to solve problems. When he found himself organizing hackathon events where students could compete over 24 hours in developing novel concepts, he realized this was more than a hobby; It was a calling. Jacob knew this was the arena where he could make a difference.

In 2020 when Jacob attended TechOlympics, a technology conference for High School students in Cincinnati, he had the opportunity to give a short TEDx talk about the importance of finding a community in the world of tech. Little did he know he was about to find a brand new community of entrepreneurs when he attended Draper University's Hero Training in the Summer of 2021. There, Jacob learned how to take a pet project and turn it into a real company with global potential. During the 2021 program, at 18 years old, Jacob was the youngest participant in a program featuring 84 entrepreneurs from all corners of the Earth. The inaugural pitch at Draper U's Demo Day for his company, Anomaly Science, earned him a 3rd place ranking of all 77 companies pitched in his cohort.

With the momentum from his experience at Draper University behind him and a pre-seed investment to fund his vision, Jacob decided to forgo college to pursue Anomaly Science full time. With a team in place in the United States, Jacob knew he needed to move to the European Union so his company would be ready to move into global markets when the time was right. A few months shy of his 19th birthday, Jacob immigrated to Berlin, Germany, where he continues to manage the US team while networking internationally to continue developing his vision.
