James is the co-founder and Chief Digital Officer of Theorem Group (www.theoremcommunicaitons.com), a private holding company that invests in technically and creatively advanced PR, social media, and digital ad agencies - and makes seed investments in promising technology, analytics, social media and other innovative ideas. James is a co-founder of Atomic PR, H30 Communications, Random Animal Mutant Digital, and other ventures, with offices in SF, LA, NYC, London and Munich. He's worked as a PR and technical/digital/social media advisor to high profile tech startups and larger brands since 1995.Theorem agencies have managed the communications for more than 30 start ups that have been acquired by larger brands in the past few years, including Outerbay, Webify, Vurv, StepUp, Photobucket, Rapt, Xign, Bebo, AdWhirl, Simplify Media, Mint.com, TutorVista, ArcSight, and more than a dozen others.James’ blend of interactive marketing, PR and technical expertise spans more than 15 years. He’s counseled CEOs and senior executives across a diverse range of technology, consumer and non-profit organizations. Recent collaborations include Smule, Photobucket, BitTorrent, Mint, imeem, Blurb, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Hotwire.com, IMAX, Pioneer, IronKey, Verizon, SixApart, the Anti-Phishing Working Group, the EFF, ACLU of Northern California and others.James manages select agency teams and contributes widely on research, competitive strategy, content issues, and integrated digital campaigns. He is the architect of Theorem's on–demand analytics application for communications research, PR planning and program measurement, in addition to its online applications and workflow systems.Prior co–founding Theorem, James spent 5 years at Shafer, a top independent technology marketing agency, where he was both CIO and a strategist on award winning campaigns for a variety of technology brands. Previously, he was a systems integrator and technology consultant for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to agencies. Before that, he was a technologist with the Electronic Security Command of the US Air Force, as well as the USAF Space Command.
