As a founding partner of Proton Enterprises, James has been a serial founder of natural product brands.

His current focus is as CEO of LMNT; on a salty rebellion to restore health through hydration.

He is also an active angel in brands (more than 50) and emerging VCs.

James work in health & wellness has centered around dietary and lifestyle interventions to chronic inflammatory health conditions (Ie, most the things humans die of today). Partnering with leading health authorities, James and his team have built multiple brands - ranging from digestive health to hydration. Some have “worked” with hundreds of millions in sales and some haven’t. Failure has been a powerful teacher.

James stays fairly connected to his alma mater through leadership within alumni organizations and has been invited as a guest at Yale Law and facilitator at Yale School of Management.

James lives in Montana and enjoys spearfishing, skiing, and weekend construction projects.
