Dr. Kang is currently working as President (research fellow) of the POSCO Research Institute. During 2015-2017 he was a research professor of Integrated Engineering Technology in YONSEI University, Seoul, S. Korea. His main research agenda is focused on the 4th industrial innovation and its impact on business model innovations in traditional industries like steel industry, since September 2015. He was CEO & President of POSCO Research Institute(www.posri.re.kr), the think-tank of POSCO Group which is the 6th largest still mill in the world. He was the Secretary to the President Roh Moo-hyun for Governmental Innovation at the Presidential House of the Republic of Korea, in charge of introducing various innovations to improve administrative efficiencies in Korea during the period between 2003 and 2007. He also worked for POSCO as the General Manager of Strategic Planning Department. He has also worked for various governmental agencies including the Korea National IT industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) as a member of operational committee. He earned a PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, owing to the POSCO Overseas Students′ Scholarship.
