Mr. Kenneth Joseph Novack, Ken, J.D., serves as a Senior Counsel at Mintz Levin. Mr. Novack holds senior positions in Mintz Levin’s portfolio companies and is actively involved in all aspects of Mintz Levin, including the investment process. He is an Advisor of POD Holding. He was a Special Advisor at General Catalyst Partners.Prior to that, Mr. Novack served as the Vice Chairman at AOL Time Warner, where he provided strategic counsel, handled special assignments for the Chairman, and assumed a leading role in major corporate transactions. In addition to his other corporate responsibilities, he oversaw AOL's legal department, its venture investments, and was a key architect of the merger between AOL and Time Warner.Prior to Vice Chairman of AOL in 1998, Mr. Novack served as AOL’s external Counsel while. He was a Senior Partner at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo and practiced for 32 years. He joined Mintz Levin in 1966 as an Associate and quickly rose to the position of a Managing Partner by 1972. As a Corporate and Securities Lawyer, Mr. Novack served as a Counsel and an Advisor to entrepreneurs, venture capital firms, and investment bankers. His practice focused on venture capital, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. In addition to his technology clients, he acted as an outside Counsel to numerous life sciences companies, including Biogen, Charles River Laboratories, Immunogen, Instrumentation Laboratories, Myriad Genetics, and Paratek Pharmaceuticals.Mr. Novack also represented Lehman Brothers in public offerings by health care companies. He has been an Independent Director of Time Warner Inc. since January 2001. He serves as a Director of Appleton Partners Inc., BBN Technologies, and Prematics Inc. and is an Advisory Director of Gordon Brothers Group.
