Dr. Lisa Shah is the Chief Medical Officer of Advantia Health. Dr. Shah has deep experience in designing value-based care models and the complex change management required for success. In addition to her career as a practicing physician and health care innovator, Dr. Shah is passionate about promoting equity and inclusion for women.

Prior to Advantia, Lisa served as Chief Innovation Officer at Sound Physicians where she led the development and implementation of innovative provider and patient focused virtual care models. Previously, Lisa spent five years at Evolent Health, a publicly-traded company focused on accelerating the transformation to value-based care for providers and health plans. At Evolent, Lisa served as Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations and Network working with health plans and accountable care organizations to build the most effective provider-led care models across multiple populations. Lisa’s work in value-based care redesign has been focused on appropriately leveraging technology, workflows, and multidisciplinary care teams while ensuring the highest patient and provider experience.

Lisa graduated from Duke University with a BA in English. She completed medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. Lisa attended the University of Chicago where she completed her residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, an academic post-residency research fellowship in hospital-based medicine, and received her Masters in Public Policy. In addition to her role at Advantia Health, she practices primary care within the Advantia healthcare network. Lisa was a Washington Business Journal Minority Business Leader awardee. She is a member of Women of Impact, a group of women healthcare executives dedicated to helping women across the healthcare industry have long lasting impact on improving the health of the nation. Lisa lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and three children.
