With 25 years of experience in engineering, law and corporate transactions, Mark Spoto is known in the community for expertly bridging the worlds of technology and finance.Mark is a co-founder and General Partner at Razor’s Edge Ventures. Mark focuses on investments in sensors, autonomous platforms and components, space, big data, and visualization, situational awareness and geospatial mission tools. Mark presently serves on the Board of Directors of Razor’s Edge portfolio companies 908 Devices, HawkEye360 and Spaceflight Industries, and is an observer to the Board of Directors of Zoomdata. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Mersive, which was sold to OpenGate Capital. He is also actively involved in managing the Fund’s investment in Altamira Technologies. Mark is also responsible for the administrative and business operations of Razor’s Edge.Before joining Razor’s Edge, Mark was a partner at the national technology law firm of Cooley LLP, where he helped start the firm’s Reston, VA office in 1999. Mark has acted as a strategic advisor to numerous emerging and high growth technology companies and investment funds. His legal practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity, public securities offerings, and general corporate representation. Previously, Mark was an aerospace engineer, working on the Air Force Titan IV rocket program for McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Company.Mark holds a B.S., summa cum laude, in Aerospace Engineering from Boston University and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center.
