Matt is a venture partner at Two Sigma Ventures and supports all activities of the fund including sourcing deals, evaluating potential investments, and supporting our portfolio companies as an advisor and board member. Matt brings a wealth of experience to Two Sigma Ventures from his prior role as the first CTO of Two Sigma Investments.

Matt joined Two Sigma Investments in 2003, and managed the firm’s foundational technology platform providing scalable tools and computational resources that make Two Sigma’s Modelers and Engineers highly productive. He served as the Chief Technology Officer from 2013 to 2016. Prior to joining Two Sigma, Matt was with Opticality Ventures as investor and in various leadership positions of their portfolio companies. He also previously worked for Objective Technologies as Director of Software Engineering, UBS as Vice President of Equities, JF Technology as Director of Technology, and Reservoir Capital as Chief Technology Officer. Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Carnegie Mellon University.

When he’s not spending time with his wife and three kids, Matt is playing tennis or eating.
