Michael Baxter is an economics writer come entrepreneur.

He launched the Investment and Business News daily email newsletter in January 2003. Since that date he has written around 5,000 articles or about 2 million words on the economy and business.

It’s an early start, and most mornings Michael is up before the birds, tapping away on his computer.

Michael recently completed his first book, “Bubbles and Wisdom” a kind of popular economics, come anthropology, come history come evolution book, which will be published by Asenta in January 2010. The book was co –written by Kenn Herskind.

In December 2006, he sold Investment and Business News to the financial research company Defaqto.

Before forming Investment and Business News he was an active investor in both quoted and unquoted companies. Before that he was a founder shareholder in a technology company which was floated on the NASDAQ.

During the 1980s he worked in PR, and launched his own PR agency specializing in the leisure computer industry in 1985.

A very long time ago, some time after the evolution of a small two legged ape that later became us, he graduated from the University College Swansea with an Honours Degree in Economics.

He lives in a small market town called Olney in Buckinghamshire, but was brought up in Sussex.

Regular readers of his writing will notice he has a certain affinity for technology and entrepreneurs. Now you know his background, you will understand why.
