Osman Semerci is the Founder and Managing Partner of EMEA Capital, a London-based investment firm specializing in financial markets, real estate and private equity investments. Semerci founded the firm in 2008 and started actively managing it full time in 2011 after spending four years as Managing Partner and CEO of Private Equity and Hedge Fund investment Management firm, Duet Group.

Recent career highlights include stepping into the role of Partner and COO in 2015 to help establish GemCorp, an Asset Management firm specializing in Emerging Markets.

Born in Turkey and educated at the Bosphorus University, where he graduated with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Osman Semerci followed up with a post-graduate degree in Management from Mamara University, Istanbul.

He began his career as an equity trader at Istanbul-based Turkinvest. In early 1990's Semerci relocated to first Geneva and following that to London for Merrill Lynch where he worked in European Emerging Markets, specializing in Fixed Income and Derivatives.

Between 2002 and 2005 Semerci worked as the head of Merrill Lynch’s fixed income and equity trading division in Asia, Australia and Japan. By 2005 he was the top-ranked capital markets banker, and the global financial press had started to notice his innovative style. He was included in a Financial News’s list of rising stars in 2005, and again in 2006 after his appointment to the position of global head of fixed income, commodities and currencies (FICC). Semerci served on the bank’s Global Operating Committee and was appointed as co-president of global markets and investment banking for the EMEA region.

After leaving Merrill Lynch, Osman Semerci joined Duet Group in 2008 where he was responsible for the management and expansion of the company. Under his management, Duet Group has increased its assets under management from USD 1bn to USD 4bn.
