Dr. Ray R. Irani, 79, has served as a Director of the Company since October 2007. Dr. Irani served as Executive Chairman of Occidental Petroleum Corporation, an international oil and gas exploration and production company as well as a major North American chemical manufacturer from May 2011 to May 2013, after serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1990 to 2011. He was a director of Occidental from 1984 to 2013 and served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Occidental from 1984 to 1990. Dr. Irani is a director of the American Petroleum Institute. He is a member of the California Business Roundtable, The Conference Board, the Council on Foreign Relations, the National Association of Manufacturers, the National Committee on United States-China Relations, the National Petroleum Council, and Sigma Xi – The Scientific Research Society. He is the U.S. Chairman of the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council. Dr. Irani is a Trustee of the University of Southern California, Co-Chair of the Board of the American University of Beirut and a member of the Lebanese American University Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Board of Governors of Town Hall Los Angeles and the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, and serves on the Advisory Board of RAND’s Center for Middle East Public Policy and the Atlantic Council’s International Advisory Board.
