RONA FAIRHEAD serves as Chairman of the BBC Trust, the governing body of the British Broadcasting Corporation, a U.K.-based international public service broadcaster.

From 2006 to 2013, she served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Times Group Limited, a division of Pearson plc, and, prior to that, she served as Pearson’s Chief Financial Officer.

Pearson is an international media and education company and the Financial Times Group provides financial news, data, commentary and analysis to the international business community.

Prior to joining Pearson, Fairhead held a variety of leadership positions at Bombardier Inc. and Imperial Chemical Industries plc. Until 2014, she was a member of the United Kingdom Government’s Cabinet Office, where she chaired the Cabinet Office Audit and Risk Committees.

She currently serves on the board of HSBC Holdings plc, a publicly traded financial institution, and chairs the board of HSBC North America Holdings Inc. She formerly served on the boards of Pearson until 2013 and Interactive Data Corporation until 2010.
