Zongo is a member of the Environmental, Health & Safety and Sustainable Development Committee and of the Human Resources and Corporate Governance Committee. From 2007 until 2011, Zongo served as Prime Minister and Head of Government of Burkina Faso and was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Burkina Faso to the United States of America from 2002 until 2007.

Previously, Zongo held positions of increasing importance within the government of Burkina Faso including as Minister of State for Planning and Budget and Minister of Economy and Finance.

Prior to his career with the government of Burkina Faso, Zongo was an academic at the University of Ouagadougou and the National School of Financial Controls where he taught accounting, business economics and financial management.

Zongo holds a B.A. and a master’s degree in economics – business management – from the University of Dakar, Senegal and a degree of higher studies in business management from the Institute of Business Management of Nantes, France.
