V. Maureen Kempston Darkes has been a Member of the Board of Directors at Schlumberger Limited since 2014.

Maureen was Group Vice President and President of Latin America, Africa and Middle East at General Motors Corporation (“GM”), an automotive manufacturer, from January 2002 until her retirement in December 2009 and was a Member of its Automotive Strategy Board until her retirement from General Motors. Maureen joined General Motors of Canada Limited in 1975 as legal staff, and three years later became Assistant Counsel. In 1991, she was appointed Vice President, Corporate Affairs, and continued to work her way up the corporate ladder until 1 July 1994, when she was named President and General Manager.

Maureen has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Enbridge Inc., a leading energy transportation and distribution company, since November 2010 and is a Member of its corporate social responsibility committee, its safety and reliability committee and its human resources and compensation committee.

Maureen also is a Member of the Board of Directors of Brookfield Asset Management Inc., a global asset management company (since April 2008), where she chairs the Risk Management Committee, Balfour Beatty plc, an infrastructure services company (since July 2012), where she chairs the Business Practices Committee and is a Member of both the Nomination and the Remuneration Committees and Canadian National Railway Company (since 1995), where she chairs the Environment, Safety and Security Committee and is a Member of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee, as well as the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee.

Maureen holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in History and Political Science from Victoria College, University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Toronto Law School and is called to the Bar of Ontario.
