Ergun Lümali was born in 1962 in Eskisehir, Turkey.After attending secondary school in Gechingen near Calw, he completed a vocational training program in construction mechanics at the Sindelfingen plant of Daimler-Benz AG. In the course of his professional and trade union career, he continued to train as an expert in the area of compensation and service policy.After completing the training, he worked as a skilled and re-fitting worker and deputy foreman. At the same time, he was active as union representative of IG Metall. Since 1994 he has been a member of the Sindelfingen Works Council, where he performs various tasks and functions for IG Metall at the local and district level. In 2008 he became Deputy Works Council Chairman at the Sindelfingen plant and has been a member of the General Works Council since that time. Since 2010, he has been active as member of the Board of Management of IG Metall.In March 2014, he was elected Chairman of the Works Council at the Sindelfingen plant and Deputy Chairman of the General Works Council of Daimler AG in April 2014.
