Dr. Kang oversees Counsyl's clinical laboratory and ensures adherence to best practices in sample collection and processing, patient privacy, and data quality. He received his M.D. from Seoul National University in Korea and an M.S. degree in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford University. He trained in Laboratory Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, and Molecular Genetic Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining Counsyl, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He is licensed to practice medicine in both New York and California, and is board-certified in Clinical Pathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology.
